The Method: EMBARKING FUTURES®

No model can predict the future. Instead, we attempt to build alternative futures from the accuracy of imagination and creative intelligence.

A tuition method to equip future agents with artistic ethics, skills and patterns, such as intuition, associative logic, resilience and kinship. The method is embed in a model of “Creative Intelligence”.

The EMBARKING FUTURES® meta-method breaks with linearity and merges knowledge from the arts, speculative approach and systems thinking. The method is built on the principle of Art as social practice, experiment, friction and cooperation. It combines artistic and scientific research, systemic tools, curatorial approach, dialectical thinking, and speculative design, and draws upon disciplines such as philosophy, anthropology, biology, physics, neuroscience, architecture and design.

Transition model of change

Life is the art of making desirable futures tangible and of sketching viable itineraries. The re:future laboratory matrix is based on art as a method of exploration and on curatorial models. It represents a curve of change where potentials, dreams and memories of the future can freely emerge and unfold. A practical guide to heroic daily life.

What to expect?

Counterfactual analysis, defying the status quo, vertical breaks, turning points and transition zones, artistic and systemic intervention, hope, courage, Principles of Creative Intelligence, learning, navigating change.

Creative Intelligence

The method is embed in a model of “Creative Intelligence”. It consists of a set of core principles: Serendipity, Symbiosis, Interplay, Fiction and Flux. These are future drivers to navigate super-culture shifts. They instigate shared visions, utopias and empathy, and inspire a shift in attitudes and mindsets.
