Chloe Piene (b. 1972, Stamford, USA) is a visual artist whose work has been described as both brutal and delicate, figurative, forensic, erotic and fantastical. She is distinguished by her unique mastery of drawing and her ability to cover a broad spectrum, from captivity to heroic transformation, death, ruin, violence and human anatomy. For Piene, drawing is at the very origin of architecture, design, planning, thinking and sculpture. She holds an MFA in Fine Art (Goldsmiths, University of London). Her works were exhibited worldwide such as at Albertina (Vienna), Art Basel, Walker art Center (Minneapolis), and Whitney Biennial (New York). They are part of public collections at Museum of Modern Art (New York, San Francisco), Sammlung Hoffmann (Berlin) and Centre George Pompidou (Paris). She is represented by Galerie Barbara Thumm (Berlin). Panels include Holitopia 2023, re:future lab, Berlin (2023).
